White Worm ID
« on: November 11, 2014, 13:06:16 »
I usually search 2 or 3 forums before asking anything but didn't see anything very definitive.  Is this just your run of the mill detrius worm or nematode?  Harmless or beneficial?

There are no tentacles and it looks like a piece of string but balled up when I jostled the shot glass.

Looks like a Nematode to me.   Here is a article about them.  http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-12/rs/index.php.  More than likely it is just a scavenger, but there are bad ones too.

And just for good reading, my favorite worm ID site.  http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchworms.html
