One coral ID please
« on: October 14, 2018, 17:18:25 »
Ok...I have a purple stylophora, and a blue "something".
Can someone please tell me what that something is?

It looks like a "pora" of some sort

I agree, most likely stylophora.  I have a purple stylo frag, from Tidal Garden, that looks very similar.  I have seen pocillopora that looks similar, but generally they are green or pink.

Obviously the purple one has the white tips. So if the blue Coral does not, is it possible that they both could be stylos? I am primarily basing it off of the tips. I got the purple one from Erky, and the blue from lazy. Not that it matters

So how do these differ from a bird of paradise? They all look the same, to me

I do agree that the polyp pattern is very similar on all of these *pora corals.

Here is the picture on Tidal Gardens.  The white part of the tips seem very small compared to your purple coral.  It's pretty difficult to tell on the blue one.  Can you take a photo in more natural white light?
