Title: Coral growth in high phos system
Post by: Heinbaughb on January 05, 2018, 23:29:56: I took some quick photos for time lapse comparison. I was pleasantly surprised considering for probably around 95% of the time this tank has been running, my nitrates have been around 15-20 and phosphate around .3-.35. By most definitions, this wold be off the charts. I’ve had some algae issues but nothing too bad. Anyways I’ve since lowered my nutrients with chaeto, phos rx and dosing bacteria (bioptim and biodigest). I’m actually happy to see any growth at all since most of you know it’s my first tank so I consider any growth as good growth.

If you notice on that last PC Rainbow acro, there is a little tyree lime in the sky poking out the back rock. That guy is taking off like a rocket but unfortunately I don’t have an earlier picture.

Post by: CoralBeauties on January 06, 2018, 09:35:49: that is good growth. I had always read where high phos can inhibit good growth. Not so much in your case.
