Sweet Tenius and Milli’s
« on: December 20, 2017, 14:43:48 »
I received 20 really nice Bali Millie’s and Tenius. They are in quarntine now getting dipped every couple days, remounted to new bases etc... Hopefully they stay nice. We shall see in a few weeks/months. Here is pics of a couple of them, more to come later. Pics are under all blue lighting so not as colorful as this but very nice nonetheless.

That’s a good question I’m not sure what that is. It’s a really unusual shape

I have something that looks like it as well, in my next tank spotlight thread i will post it, mine is a super vibrant blue tipped monster, I got it from Fiji and most of it RTN'd when i was having issues, but it is very stable now. Did you get a packing slip from the supplier on what species were included in your box?

those under a kessil?

Yes pics were taken under Kessils. I received packing slip however it doesn’t mention name. I think you are referring to transhipoed corals from an overseas exporter where you get the scientific name packing list. I wouldn’t see that because my corals come from a US based supplier.

Well most of them have hit the browning phase. Typically when I get these they lose color over a period of a couple weeks (get pale). Then they turn brown. I wait until that happens before hitting them with high light.  A lot of these multi colored rainbow tenius and Millie’s will morph into a single or double color when all said and done. It’s not to often they keep three or four colors they come in with. Those that do become the high-end named corals. Some vendors have been doing this for a long time and know exactly what’s going to happen to a coral because they purchased it many times over. I’m still learning but starting to be able to spot and purchase corals that I have had previous experience with. Would love to hear others experience with ocean coral from hobbyist or other vendors like Gary who has been doing this for a long long time
