RIP Ruby Red
« on: March 13, 2018, 19:03:56 »
I’ve had Ruby for about 5 months. Got her from Brian. Eating frozen daily. I farmed pods and added to her DT every week.  Out of nowhere, she comes out from behind the rocks last week with a gash across her head, right behind her eye stalks. I couldnt tell if she somehow got into a wave pump, maybe a larger crab grabbed her or it’s some kind of disease. She was eating ok and I hoped the wound would heal. The last couple days I had to find her to feed her. She wasn’t coming out. This morning, the gash seemed to be eating away the remaining flesh on her head and when I got home from work, she had lost an eye and I think she was blind in the other. Poor little thing was just in really bad shape. I asked Mel to put her out of her misery. I hate this part of the hobby. Anyone ever heard of a disease that would attack the flesh like that?

The best pic I could get of her...

I feel for you Erk. I just fear getting another one if it’s a disease....
