glueless frag plugs
« on: April 08, 2014, 03:44:44 »
I purchased a few of these at the swap and they seem to be working very well.
I contacted the vendor and got his contact info if anyone is interested in getting some to try or more. I think they're a great idea.

I've used 5 of them so far and really like them. I'll definitely be getting more.

Is there a website to get information about these?

He told me he's working on a website and if anyone needed info before he got if funning to feel free to contact him directly. He'll be happy to answer any questions.
I'll take a couple pictures of the ones I have in the morning and post them.

Sorry. I totally forgot about taking pics of these plugs. I've been working a lot of overtime lately. I'll try to remember to do it tomorrow.

I was at the swap this past weekend and saw them but didn't get any. Now I am kicking myself for not buying a few bags of them. :(
does anyone know if the website got up and running?

I'm not sure, but the email address is still good for Dave.   Send him a note.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the interest in the glueless frag plugs!  I am finishing up the new packaging and they will have a new name..."TUGS".  I will also have them available in black later this month.  The black makes many coral's colors "pop" and it hides the plug better until it is encrusted.  I am working to get a website in place, but in the mean time you can contact me via my email at: seasolutionsmi@gmail.com if you are interested in getting some.  I sell them at shows for $5 for a package of 12 which is about .40 each.  I should be able to honor that price for Ohio Reef members.  They retail at stores in the $6-$7 range.

I have been using them for many years and finally decided to step up and produce them for sale.  They are perfect for SPS and work well with a variety of other hard corals.  Here are some of the advantages of "Tugs".

No glue needed
No glue induced tissue recession...corals quickly encrust the plug
Frags can be removed for a new placement or for parasite treatment
Fast and simple...make more frags in less time!
Most plugs can be reused if necessary

I will post a picture if I can figure how to do it!

Thanks for the time!

BTW-  The swap was great.  Thanks for having us.  The Dayton area has a great group of people!
