Geo calcium reactor
« on: April 06, 2019, 12:37:53 »
New toy! My Aquamaxx nano couldn’t keep up with my tank demand, and I was topping off with kallawaser to keep up. Could still barely keep 8dkh. Picked up this geo 612 on sale, and wow is it nice. Been running for two days and my alk is steady at 10dkh!

Looks nice - do you have to run CO2 on it as well?

It’s a waterbox 100.3, and is a little over 100 gallons of total volume. I am terrible with pictures and don’t have a filter. And yes, it has to have co2 injected into it with a regulator to work.

Ca reactors are the best!!  I have been using mine for year and will always run one.  Dead nut easy to control alk within a system.  Not sure why more people arent using them.  Little pricey at first to get set up but in the long run they will pay for themselves.

And I like the fact that I’m recycling old reef to help feed my coral.

Saltybuckeye,

I really dig that Waterbox tank - very nice looking! I will have to look into a Calc reactor for the future!
