I have a small Derasa clam I’ve had for a month now. Over the last few days I’ve noticed it was moving and it’s detaching itself from the peice or coal it was attached to. But I’m curious as to what the white looking stuff is... is it the foot?? It’s a bit closed up cause my fox face was down swimming around it as i was looking at the clam.

The fox decided to rip it off what ever it is.

Might be a better pic. Sorry for all the replies!!

I had one do the same thing. I tried placing it in different locations and no matter what it wouldnt reattach. Only lasted a month of so after that. Hope yours fares better then mine.

Did you remove it before it died? I can’t remember but can they nuke a tank?

I wouldnt give up on it yet. You will know when it is a goner. its mantle will retract inside the shell and then start to separate from the shell.

Gotcha. It’s been opened like normal. I’ll keep an eye on it.
