With this tank/overflow configuration, yes.

I guess that makes sense... I've always just been under the impression that if you are going to move the tank you are also going to replace the plumbing so you'd just cut the bulkhead off... but what you are saying would be alot easier.... guess I'll try that on my next build.

A small amount of lubricant around the gaskets also help to get a nice seal.
I agree with Miles, cut it apart and redo it.

Water, sand, rock in, canopy painted, time for the minor details while waiting on the cycle.

Hate to be bearer of bad news. The rock you have in there isnt what would be classified as reef rock. Reef rock is light and porus, that looks heavy and dense; closer to stone. The sand will dedintley give you some biological filtration.
What did you end up doing with the plumbing?

Lol no worries Brian! It's Texas holey rock in there. Also have a brightwell xport brick in the sump, that will help with filtration. Also getting some pukani, and what's coming out of my 20 will be going in there.

As far as the plumbing, just decided to patch, I'll have this running for quite some time so not going to worry about it for now.

Over the past couple of days I have been questioning my choice in sand. I picked up 4 bags of reef sand and 3 bags of oolite. The idea was to blend them so I would have sand that wasn't too hard on the burrows and still heavy enough to not cause visibility issues. Unfortunately that isn't what happened, right now I have a heavy layer of oolite covering everything including the return pump, skimmer and all.

I picked up some filter floss padding and a filter sock, so running those for a while and cleaning them out regularly to try to help with the powder all over everything.

I guess one could say "lesson learned" on this point, just hope the sand doesn't damage the return pump or the skimmer motor.

Figure I should post some pics. Doors are still being painted and still deciding how to handle the electrical.

Picked up a clean up crew pack from gerbers (nerites, ceriths, margaritas, turbos, and hermits) and three chromis to put in for now. Gerbers did have some nice very small hippo tangs I was considering. Will have to get that later as my budget is now blown.

The clean up crew has been busy. Lost one chromis, but no big deal there. Will let cuc get to it when it does. But you can see where they have been working.

So I had gotten to work on the electrical last night and planned on switching power strips entirely. So turned the big yellow on off, unplugged everything and started placing cable runs. After getting everything plugged in, one of the Hydra 26s did not come back on. Looks like all three LED colors are showing on the indicator, and no documentation on what that means. So looks like i will be contacting them for exchange/repair options.

Called C2/AquaIllumination this morning. Come to find out there was a fault on the WiFi device inside the light, so they are sending me a new unit. Hopefully will be here by Friday.
