What are you keeping them in...tank wise? And any type of filtration or aeration or something? Just wondering because I have been closely monitoring this thread to see how you are doing. I have 3 pep shrimp in my biocube 29 and they constantly have eggs. I tried catching one last week, as it was only a few days from them all hatching but...well lets just say the shrimp won that battle :)

I checked each of the 3 tonight and one has a new batch of eggs already started and I want to catch her up and try raising them as well.

Also, what are you feeding them? BBS or something?

Thanks

They are in a small 3g picotope tank. There is a small heater and air stone with fine bubbles. Nothing else is in the tank and no filtration. I change 90% of the water every third day. I don't think it is the best environment for them. I ordered a book on rearing peppermint shrimp and waiting for that to get here to see what I need to do. There isn't much info out there so I am counting on this to be a good book. I feed them live baby brine shrimp.

I was thinking that maybe a 10g would work?? Well keep us all updated, especially once you get that book!

Small works pretty good right now for water changes. These guys aren't much larger then a baby brine shrimp and much much smaller then an adult brine shrimp. It is hard for me to find them at times. A 10g would probably be my next step but that is likely a good 2 weeks away if they survive that long. But thanks for the equipment offers.

To my surprise they are doing really well. Since this last morph yesterday they seem to swim with purpose now instead of just where the flow takes them. They have got some new legs that they use to swim with and can even see them chase down the live baby brine. I have to siphon out the brine shrimp every couple days because they grow to quick, much faster then the peppermint shrimp. The hunted could end up being the hunters. Here is a couple snaps from this evening.

If I was sucessful in rasing any significant numbers I would sell to local fish stores because it would fall under commercial sales for Ohio Reef. However I would share my methods so anyone could raise them. I am along way from claiming victory though. Still waiting on the book I ordered to arrive.

Glad you like the pics, it is so hard to get good snaps. It is like trying to get a photo of a reef pod. They are small and moving constantly.

All of them still alive. Kind of a PIA with the daily water changes. Added flake food to their diet now. Need to get a sump hooked up so I can add filtration. A tank with just water is really hard to keep clean.
The mother released another few hundred young last night. I put them in a small 5gallon tank.
