killing a paly?
« on: February 15, 2019, 23:15:48 »
I have a green paly show up out of the blue with never having any of them in the tank.  I want to kill it but have read horror stories on their toxins.  wondering if I can just put some kalk paste on it?  Im not able to remove the rock without tearing quite a bit of rock work out.
thanks
Jeff

This is what I’ve done, get a hose and start a siphon right above it and then I use one of those little 3” filet knives and scrape the paly off the rock. It will suck it right into the bucket, along with any toxin it may release. Then flush it. If it was a colony I don’t know that I would do that though.

A single polyp or two in your size system would be fine to kalk paste . Or bone cutters to chip the rock underneath it if you can get to it.
