adding a 2nd nem
« on: October 15, 2018, 16:57:42 »
I currently have a 130 gallon tank. Mixed Reef, and one BTA. The BTA is on one end of the tank and is a good 6-9" in diameter.

I have the opportunity to get a rose BTA. Are their any issues that I would need to consider if I were to take the 2nd BTA on?

I don't think it should be an issue as long as you provide ample space around them.  They will sting/burn most things close to them and will eat fish that get tangled in them. I have had them split as well and move around the tank. If they wander into a Gyre or power head, it will make a mess out of them. :-(

I have 4 RBTA in a 180 and have had as many as 7. I just keep them in the corner of the tank.

how exactly do you "keep" them there?
my current one resides in the corner, but I certainly haven't tried to keep him there.

I have a stack of rock that is separated from everything else. They split and move some, but I have not had any leave their little area.
