Since I sponsor over a dozen local forums from PA to TX, including this one,  I had wanted to pick the largest national forum to give all players an equal shot seeing the giveaway and get the most exposure. I simply donated the product and R2R is handling all the technical details and selecting the winner.

I meant no intent to direct traffic away from the local club forums where our "friends" are and on to a competing forum, if anyone was thinking that.

Actually, I assumed (silly me) that most folks use R2R as a database for seeking info since some of the other national forums have a reputation as being harsh or critical to questions posted.

Facebook is rapidly becoming the preferred advertising medium, since most folks visit a company website one time and rarely return to see updates.

No problem and it's great to see you giving back to the community Larry. I don't care for Facebook and deleted it about three years ago so I miss out on a lot of give aways and or promotions. I will still continue to use LRS even if I have to pay for it.

Many people have mixed opinions about FB, and I too despise the way it has taken over young peoples lives, where they post everything in the public eye. However, when you post a pic of something on a BUSINESS FB page it can instantly reach thousands of people. FB has likely aided us in doubling the amount of stores we have selling our products, which is now over 100. Not to mention the inquiries from Canada, Puerto Rico and Oregon where we just shipped 50 packs of food, all because of a FB request for info. I look at it as a necessary evil.....

I agree people my age are way to engrossed in it and post way to much personal stuff on it. I do have a Facebook but am only on every couple weeks and post stuff less often.

I, for one, like Facebook for the fact by joining groups I've been able to help quite a few people with their tanks. At least, I hope I have anyway, lol. Granted, its not as personable as a forum and people get mad over the stupidest things. I always recommend them joining a local forum though.

Things like FaceBook and Twitter are an important part of advertising now. I've caught myself looking at websites to see if they happen to use either. Guess its, to me anyway, proof of said company is serious. If they take the time to create and update those feeds it shows they're real about what they do.

Brent, great points about FB!

You follow ours so you see how much info we can disperse with just a few key strokes and popping up a photo. Everything from telling friends to keep an eye out for our new glowing signs, to announcing that we now have a stocking LRS store in Portland, OR can be announced in seconds.

We have almost 1500 fans and gain new ones every day. Many of these reefers have no LRS stocking dealer near them yet, so we post when a new store has an inbound shipment and it really makes people happy to see our food moving into their city.

FB is the best free advertising you can get IMHO.
