Question! On a tank this size is it worth running gfo I am already planning on running a carbon reactor any input would be great

Might be nice to plan how you would do it, but. Carbon dosing and gfo aren't typically done at the same time.

Thanks for the input I was looking at the brs dual reactor but I guess that might be overkill I'm looking for the best method to keep the water polished, I have my own rodi just trying to do all the planning now to make sure I have room in stand since I'm in the sump design phase

Flow rates on gfo is usually a couple times higher then carbon so you may want two reactors. They can share same pump since each will come with their own valve control.

I guess Lazy and I read this differently too.  When you said carbon dosing.  Are you talking about using Activated Carbon, or a BioPellet Reactor

I don't think he said carbon dosing. He said using a carbon reactor.

Do you think a syncra silent 1.0 is enough to power both

The term reactor means something different to everyone.  I see now BRS is selling a common filter housing as a Reactor.....lol.

Anyway, a syncra silient 1.0 should work fine.  That is rated at 250gph at 5ft of head.  Very similar to the maxijet 1200 that is commonly sold with that setup.

I have run the BRS dual reactor with the 1.0.  Actually, it Seems a little better with head pressure than the MJ.

I orderd a 3/4 return but thinking I'll run 2 return pumps does anyone here run 2 return pumps I'm trying to keep the flow in the tank laminar, I will create most flow with a powerhead, I am running a syncra 2.0 as return and at my calculated head height will be 415gph  but if I split this between to returns I'm afraid it will drop to much any input on this???

Lots of options on your flow/returns question. I have run 2 return pumps in one sump to different tanks, but now I have a manifold running one pump to 2 tanks with a total of 5 returns.

Some pros and cons

Cons with 1 pump, pros for 2
You will lose flow for any T's, elbows, bends, etc. so bigger pump required
You will probably want ball valves on the outlets after you T from a single pump because flow may be difficult to normalize
Redundancy limited and extra pump backup expensive to have around

Cons with 2 pumps, pros for 1
Probably costs more
Uses valuable sump space
More  maintenance

Since pumps are awesome, but I also kind of like the lifeguard pumps as they are pretty quiet too and pretty cheap if you were looking for something with higher flow.

I have Jebao D.C. Pumps which are cheap and quiet, but I haven't had them long enough to report on quality.

Thanks I think I'm going to run just the one pump for now I'm running flexible hose so it won't be to hard to plumb another one in I just ordered my acrylic to build my sump so we shall see how long that takes to get here. Im going to keep it simple to a 3-4 baffle system with a bubble trap before return section but if anyone has any input on wish they had or to run s refuge or not any input would be appreciated
