Coral growth in high phos system
« on: January 05, 2018, 23:29:56 »
I took some quick photos for time lapse comparison. I was pleasantly surprised considering for probably around 95% of the time this tank has been running, my nitrates have been around 15-20 and phosphate around .3-.35. By most definitions, this wold be off the charts. Iíve had some algae issues but nothing too bad. Anyways Iíve since lowered my nutrients with chaeto, phos rx and dosing bacteria (bioptim and biodigest). Iím actually happy to see any growth at all since most of you know itís my first tank so I consider any growth as good growth.

If you notice on that last PC Rainbow acro, there is a little tyree lime in the sky poking out the back rock. That guy is taking off like a rocket but unfortunately I donít have an earlier picture.

Thanks Jessie. Iím curious to see how the next couple months will compare now that I have a better handle on the nutrients.

that is good growth.  I had always read where high phos can inhibit good growth.  Not so much in your case.
