I need to remove the SWC skimmer from the above list, must have cleaned to well, runs like crap now. I need to buy a new impeller for it, is what it looks like.

Did you test in freshwater? I ask because they will make funny noise unless in saltwater?

Wow, great point, yes it is in fresh water. Messages like this make this site great. I will switch over tomorrow and give it a try, many thanks.

Skimmer works great, do not need a new impeller after all, dang -  great stuff. I had the skimmer in fresh water after cleaning it and thought - fire it up in here  -  did not produce many foam bubbles. Lesson learned. Thanks Brian / Jjoos.

Sump Pic - may be better. the sump has an infeed chamber / Center chamber / Over-Under-Over center flow and a return section.

Hmm, can ya back up just a hair and take another? Lol. I see a filter sock hanging there. I’d like to see how that’s incorporated...

the filter sock is not an actual part, that was me trying something. My thought was a 4in sock holder if needed - the type that Brian sells?

Yes, I like using 4” mesh socks. My factory sump has a sock holder built into the next chamber after the overflow chamber. I’m just wondering how I could incorporate that into a home made sump such as this.

Yes, thank you. I’ll have to price out the other parts I need like the sock holder, acrylic to make the overflow chamber and probe holders. I’ll get back with you. Thanks!

Can you say more about the "overflow build" - what is this or what do you mean when you say this? Apex probe holder is $39 and the 4in sock holder is $19 at Lazy's Fraghouse.

This is part of my current sump. The overflow dumps into a chamber behind the filter sock. The water then fills that chamber then flows up and over into the sock chamber and then into the sock. Makes the whole system extremely quiet. The overflow pipe is below the height of the sock.

If the 55 is in good shape, I'll take it. We are coming down Saturday to visit you and we can pick it up then, if that works you.
