Help! Apex acting strange
« on: January 07, 2018, 17:52:48 »
As if I don’t have enough to worry about, my apex just started going haywire. I noticed my fuge light on when it isn’t supposed to be. Came in the tank room and the on/off for that outlet isn’t working. Then I notice that it says my second WAV pump is missing. So I updated the apex, no help. I unplugged the apex. No help. What do I do now??

There was a recent change in the firmware related to the wave pumps.  I would make sure your modules are up to date, and then reconnect the waves.

Do you have the time to give me a call?

It’s the whole unit. None of the outlets are turning on/off and my DOS is not dosing. 1 WAV works at half power but keep shutting off for 30 seconds every now and then

Updated the power bar then the WAV modules, re-powered everything and the EB still isn’t programmable and now both WAV pumps are off.... Uhg

I have not had problems with my 2016 apex, so I'm not sure of all of the trouble shooting steps.

First, I would make sure you have a backup of the current programming.   (pdf version)
I would use the local web interface of the controller....
What do the status lights look like?
Perhaps unhook all the devices, reboot, then add them back one at a time.

Ya I hadn’t either until this evening. Ironically I just responded to the survey email this morning, praising them.

How do I get a backup pdf?

I tried opening the app that I originally set the apex up with to direct connect and it says it’s outdated. So I don’t know how to connect directly to it now, other than Fusion.

The base unit seems ok solid orange but the EB is flashing

http://apex.local (unless you have changed it)  from your web browser....preferably, not a mobile device.

Taking the day off work to try to get it back online. Nice use of a vacation day.

I got a response from Neptune this morning. They are saying the EB firmware looks corrupted. They are suggesting I do the same thing you said Paul. Unplug everything, including the EB and update the EB...

Anything can fail.  It's tough to keep backup hardware when the cost is that much.  I've had neptune product for years (since aquacontroller 2)  I've only had one DC4 fail over the years.
