Im no expert but I wouldnt run your baffles all the way to the top of the tank.  might run into bad trouble if there were a blockage in one of the baffles with water backing up and completely filling one of the sections.

this peice is not required. Make the last wier at least an inch wide. If to narrow the bubbles can push through due to velocity

If you look at most designs you only need them to go an inch or 2 above the other plate.  I would probably take that last plate and have it about 1-2 in off the bottom of the tank and about the same above the other plate.  I wouldnt think you would have an bubbles at that point coming out of the fuge area but lowering the plate will also give it more contact time between the two plates to remove any possible bubbles before entering the return pump chamber.  with Brian's 1in spacing suggestion it allows you also to be able to clean between the plates if the need should arise.

i have the fuge first, seems like the macroalgae grows better and skimmer cleans up the rest. i've got miracle mud in a tupperware container in fuge section for easy change out 1x per year.

i'd build your skimmer chamber to be the slightly larger than the skimmer you are using so you can have a bigger return/fuge section
