Can I add a Blenny or Goby?
« on: February 14, 2018, 16:07:41 »
I am at the 3 month mark for my Fluval SEA Evo 13.5 gallon.  I have 2 very small clownfish, 1 coral banded shrimp, and a CUC consisting of hermits and snails.

I really want to get a blenny or goby to bring some character into the tank.  What would be the pros and cons of me doing this?

IMO, I'd say a goby would be the best bet.  More of a selection in a tank that size
I certainly don't see an issue with having one or the other though
Most blennies require a larger tank to move around in.

I would say goby as well. Itís a rather small tank and 2 clowns will basically claim that whole space as their territory. The goby will spend most of its time on the sand, out of the clowns space. A blenny would use the whole tank.
May invade the clowns territory, and then again, they may not care!

Will there be any issues with my coral banded shrimp and the goby?  Is it wise to pair a watchman goby with a pistol shrimp, or am I getting into too many potential conflicts with the coral banded being in there?

A Watchman goby with a pistol shrimp is always a joy to have :) . However with the size of tank that you have you may be pushing the limits for a healthy tank population.
