cloudy water from new purchase
« on: March 27, 2018, 18:00:23 »
Purchased 2 fish from local fish store (aquatics galore)
Well I know your going to tell me never to put the bag water in the tank. Sometimes I follow the rules.lol.
Well this time just from 2 bags. 1 fish each bag. My 65 gallon tank which was crystal clear is now cloudy.
Any thoughts?

In my humble opinion, the first mistake was purchasing anything from aquatics galore. They are a disgrace to the hobby.
My fear for you is that the store water could have been loaded with copper, medication, decaying matter, etc. How are your parameters testing? Do you have coral/inverts?

Call and ask if they run any preventative dosing in the systems.  Huge % wise water change and polyfilter if they are running copper.

If you find they use copper get yourself a bag of CupriSorb Copper Remover. You can toss in sump and leave it there for a couple months.

From what I have read Carbon does not remove heavy metals such as copper.
