diy acrylic tank
« on: February 14, 2019, 16:13:19 »
anyone have experience making their own tanks with acrylic sheets?

is it cost effective? obviously depending on how we value our time that effects the answer, but humor me.  i've made all of my stands and all of my sumps myself - so i wouldnt say im an expert craftsman but not the worst either.

id like to make my own frag tanks, just set up an additional 50 gallon Rubbermaid feeding trough but would like to have a cleaner/nicer look without paying an arm and a leg for the tank

I havent built a tank before but acrylic is quite expensive.  I love diy but not sure I would do a tank.  Alot of variables that can go wrong.  I would watch around for a used tank like you want.  I remember a few months ago someone here that was in springfield had a great frag system f/s priced really good.

That’s what I’m doing now, depending on anyone’s skill level I’d be willing to buy materials for them to do the work if the price is right
