There will be a drawing at each Monthly Ohio Reef Meeting among the attendees for multiple gift certificates and a gift worth $50-60.

We are going to do a raffle for premium members at the end of year meeting. Premium members will receive 1 raffle ticket for each time they attend a Monthly Ohio Reef Meeting. For those premium members that host a monthly meeting, they will receive 3 additional raffle tickets.

We will host September if people would be interested in coming to Hamilton. If we do that Sunday it would need to be at 3 to give us time to get home from church. Agame lives right across the street from me so I will check with him about letting the club check his tank out as well.

We will offer to host the April 17th meeting. I live in Springboro. 3:00 start time would be great as we need time to get home from church as well.

As this is my first ever tank, and its getting full, and its only a 30 gallon (36" long and shallow) I would appreciate if everyone would comment on how beautiful it is and what a great job I'm doing.........and then recommend a larger tank.......when my wife is near by!

Thanks you! I will get it setup on the calendar. Were you able to control the PO4 and get the Redfield Ratio to 16:1? I picked up some Potassium Nitrate and KCL last week. The tanks Potassium is low and Iodine is zero, but with modern chemistry they are on the rise (slowly)! I have not dosed the KNO3 yet.

Yes I was Gary! After a week or so the corals and macroalgae started consuming nitrates at a rate of 5ppm per day!!! I have continued dosing as well as started feeding normally again. Phosphates are down to 0.07 and falling. I hope to get them down to 0.02 by the weekend.

I will host the year end meeting again if that is ok with everyone. It can be either Saturday the 10th or Sunday the 11th.

We will not have a meeting in October because of the Frag Swap.

I would like to get some feedback about having all of the meetings on Sunday. Is it better to have them on the same day every month so everyone will know exactly when they are or if using both Saturday and Sunday would allow more members to participate because of different work schedules. Please give feedback, it is your club and we want to get the most participation.

I think whoever is hosting the meeting should pick the date according to their schedule. Communicating the date is easy by clicking on adminstration -> news -> and send the entire forums members an email. The email can contain the meeting date, time, city and who is hosting. It only take a couple minutes to send the email through the Ohio Reef website.

I'm not sure we should be debating it here, but that and other options were discussed early in the year by the BOD and rejected. The BOD decided to have the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2PM and not to deviate. It is a "meeting" that has no defined time line, only a start time. Members can schedule meetings anytime, but this is a Monthly Ohio Reef meeting.

I wasn't debating. It was an observation and suggestion. This is the appropriate place for members to discuss scheduling.

It looks like we are having hard time finding folks to host a meeting. It is in part because the date is being dictated rather then allowing the host to choose when it is good for them. For example Keith is wanting to host the Dec meeting on the 10th or 11th. If you take a hard stance of the 19th then he won't be able to host it. Same for Fathers day weekend this month.

It looks like from info in this thread, Keith and AJ would like to host a meeting at their homes outside of the scheduled dates. You are defending the BOD position the day of the month it occurs is firm and fixed. I am suggesting that if you are not flexible with date then you may have challenges finding a meeting host. Don't take it personal, it wasn't meant to be.

As the summer months are upon us, outdoor activities as well family activities are alive and thriving. As this is the case, we will not be holding a sanctioned Ohio Reef meeting in July. Members are still welcome to hold meetings or meet up with one another.

I agree that trying to have fixed dates is not helpful for the host. We are planning on having one of the meetings at our place but we are very busy during the summer almost every weekend. Also our air conditioner is currently not working so we are waiting till it is fixed before we agree to host.

There was a majority vote "Yes" by the BOD to cancel the July meeting.

**Correction**
The BOD decided that we were not going to host a July meeting, but if a member wanted to host, they are more than welcome to. I believe that TroyReef volunteered to host the meeting. Once the date and time are confirmed we will update the schedule and send out an email.
