We are requesting all members/ guests who plan on attending the November meeting to kindly refrain from bringing, buying, selling or trading any livestock (includes macro algae, corals, fish, snails etc)  during the meeting while at our house. In other words, no livestock from outside will be permitted in our house. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks for understanding our wishes.

We are expecting a large turn out for the November meeting. If you still need directions, please send me a PM. We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon!  :-ThumbUpsm

I completely understand and it is your call.

But isn't this supposed to be a reef club meeting. Whats the point of having meetings if a few trades are prohibited ?

LOL ... Sorry, no slight intended Dave :)  the post just struck me as funny. I guess everyone in the club thats interested in trading can meet up at the Kroger's parking lot for a tailgate swap :) (JK)

This would be a great opportunity for people to get a look at a nice setup (from what I am to understand as I have never seen it myself). It is very gracious of aquavist99 to allow people into his home and share his experiences.

I am just curious as to the limitation.

Just to clarify, we are not prohibiting any buying, selling or trading at the November meeting. Rather, we are not allowing outside frags or other livestock items into our home.  Dry stock items would be okay and as Hunger stated, you can still buy, sell and trade livestock items but kindly do not bring coral frags, fish, macro algae, snails, etc into our house.  Keep in mind that in just another 3 weeks, the Ohio Reef Old School Frag Swap will take place on 12/3 as well.

Unfortunately, we don't have a fenced in backyard. Sure hope for a speedy recovery for your dog.

I think "fairly large" is about as much as and understatement as I have heard for a while....LOL.
It was nice putting some faces to names today.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Paul. Maybe we can talk Lazylivin into taking some pictures of my reef with his camera. Brian photographed my reef a few years ago when all my corals were small frags, and his pictures were amazing.

My good friend Mark (Docsky) from Cincinnati offered me an Australian Copperband Butterflyfish (Chelmon rostratus) from his private collection to help me gain control over my recent aiptasia outbreak at the November Ohio Reef meeting. I added 25 adult aiptasia eating Berghia Nudibranchs to my system 3 weeks ago, and plan to add Docsky's fish to my system after QT. Mark had this Australian gem in his system for the past two years and I have been told the fish loves aiptasia!  :-ThumbUpsm

Here are a few pictures of the Australian Copperband being acclimated to one of my QT systems.

-kinda looks like your tank Tim... and when I have my tank done you are welcome to come over and expand your reef into mine ;P
