Used should be fine.  I just want to test different hydrometers at different temperatures and compare the results to the actual salinity.  The more I can test, the better, since my numbers will statistically be better.

Sure! I was not planning to frag the pink millie colony for the meeting, but accidents do happen whenever you clean the reef. I fragged this coral four times previously and it grows back fast. This small millie colony started from a 1" inch frag I purchased back in 2007 at the CSEA frag swap in Cleveland. Attached a recent top down picture below as well  ;D

We look forward to meeting you. I will have some SPS frags available. Not sure if some of the other  members who will be attending will have frags available as well.  BTW, anyone who will be attending the July meeting can post whatever frags you would like to buy, sell or trade on this thread as well, if interested.

Unfortunately, I am not looking to add new frags  at this time since my reef is full but other members may want to offer frags for sale or trade at the meeting as well.

I received multiple PMs about yellow humilis frags. I currently have 4 available (fully encrusted on frag plugs) but I can frag more from this colony upon request to make sure no one is left out. Attached a recent top down picture of my humilis colony below.

Here are some frags I have that I can bring. WARNING I have red flat worms (planaria): http://www.melevsreef.com/id/flatworms.jpg

They don't hurt anything but they are annoying as hell. I will dip any coral I sell in FWE and scour them to make sure there are no FWs on there, but I make no guarantees that they won't make it into your tank. You should take precautions (quarantine) if FWs worry you.

SPS
Green Mille - Fuzzy and Bright. It's one of the few SPS my wife actually likes cause it's still 'flowy' - Frag is mounted on a small rock, completely encrusted and multi branched. $20

Another Mille Sold to me as a rainbow mille? $10 encrusted and about 1" maybe bigger.

ORA  Turquoise Staghorn 5-6" multi branched fully encrusted - $40

ORA Blue Mille - 1"+ encrusted $15

This one that is in front of the Pearlberry. It is a named LE coral, but I can't remember which one. It is really nicely colored - Picture is pretty close to reality. I will only sell this one if I can get it out of there without breaking it's base. 2" Tall and if I can get it out it will be encrusted. $30

I have a small frag of this Spongodes that I broke by mistake. It is small but encrusted.  $10 You can sort of see the frag in the left of the 2nd pic

Rock with nice purple and orange caps on it. Each cap is 3x3 or better $30

I also have these and will try to get pics, but they are in funny areas of the tank and hard to get at. They are all nice frags and if you decide you aren't happy with them I won't hold you to the purchase.

Tryree Monti Palawanesis - Small $35
ATL Lavender and Lime birdnest - Nice 2"+ tall 2" round $50
Mike Accardi Stag - 2"+ encrusted and starting to branch - $30
Green Acro Sarmentosa - 1"+ multibranch encrusted on small rock. $20
Purple Acro samoensis - 1"+ multibranch encrusted on small rock. $20
Acro Valida TriColor - This frag was just rediscovered under a ledge in my tank. It has browned out but is a nice size encrusted frag that will color up nicely in good light. The growth edges are already turning purple again. $15
Acro Nana - I bought a small colony of this coral. Due to my stupidity I dropped the coral and broke it into about 45 pieces. I have a nice 4x4 rock with about 4-5 nicely encrusted frags on it. $45

LPS
Acan of some sort. Aussie I think. Green and purple $20

I have another Acan that is Red and Grey at least 10 heads $40

That is all for now. If I find some more I will post up.

Joe

P.S.  Like I've requested before, if you have any extra hydrometers and/or refractometers I could borrow for a month for a study to be included in the newsletter, I'd appreciate the help!  The more I have, the more accurate/precise my study will be.

Very fun meeting!  Congrats to Joe, Chris, and Scott for winning gift certificates!  A special thanks goes out to Tim and Will for turning down their gift certificates so others could win!

Tim's tank was amazing.  I accidentally left a few fingerprint smudges because I'd go to point at a coral...and couldn't even tell where the glass was because it was sooooo clean!

I knooooooooooooooow!!!  I realized that when we were halfway home.  :(  I didn't get enough hydrometers anyway, so I'll probably just do an extended experiment.  As I go along, I'll post my results...and add to it as I get more equipment.  Thank you so much though for trying!

I agree. The reef looks so much better in person (emphasis added). The reason why there are differences between the actual colors and the colors recorded in a picture is related to the light source illuminating the subject (in this case, my light source is metal halide lighting only for my reef aquarium). I think I need to adjust the white balance of my new camera for shooting pictures under indoor lighting conditions (to get more colorful reef pictures). The camera takes great underwater pictures under natural lighting (see Florida Key Reef pics) ...Still learning how to take better pictures under various types of indoor lighting.

No problem on the gift certificate. Glad you could make it to the meeting!

As always for only spending an hour a week on cleaning Tim has one of the nicest, cleanest tanks i have seen.

I think Joe asked the question at the meeting about how long I spend per week on cleaning the reef. Well, I started to time myself recently and I spend approximately two hours per week with the tank....includes cleaning the glass daily, feeding the fish, cleaning the filter sock (two to three times weekly), water changes, cleaning the skimmer collection cup and daily RO/DI top off.  Every three weeks, I clean the internal tunze and vortech pumps, which adds additional time to my cleaning schedule as well.
