Need to frame up something to hang my lights on. No experience with this and no place or equipment to do it anyway. Any help is appreciated.

I've seen a lot of them made from pvc. All you need is a saw.

I made mine from extruded aluminum.  It has rails on all for slides and is easy to work with.  You just cut to length and bolt together I can post pictures of mine if you like

Lowes has a pretty good selection of flat stock and square tube aluminum. We made some light racks out of it for our frag tank. Cut it , drill it, bolt it and then paint it. I have seen some nice ones. Big toms is one of them.

Is yours mounted to the canopy or the tank? I don't have a canopy and am looking for something I can fasten to the stand or set directly on the tank. Thanks for the pics and input.

Mine sits directly on the tank.  I live in Monroe and if you want to come see it you are welcome to.
