Looking for some small affordable frags!
« on: November 21, 2018, 10:19:49 »
Hi all! I am looking to buy some extra frags off of anyone that would be willing to give me a deal  ^-^. I'm mostly interested in softies/euphyllia but would always be willing to give something like Birdsnest a try! Also, I can't do Zoanthids since 80% of the ones I buy just get eaten by anthropods in my tank  :(. Thanks in advance!

hey bud are sure you pods are eating your zoas and not pick at detritus around the polyps? the polyps will close up while there being messed with which is normal.  I have never heard of this happening before.

Not sure what “Anthropod” would be in your reef. At any rate, there are pests that eat Zoas. Nudibranchs, zoa spiders, etc. You very well could have something eating your Zoas. Try waiting a couple hours after lights out and quickly shine a flashlight in a colony you suspect has a pest. Then try to get a picture of it if you find something.

This is what I have seen picking at them. At any rate, the rest of my corals do just fine. Even one small Zoa colony is doing well.

I apologize for the mistake. I meant AMPHIPODS and not what I said.
