Aquarium drilling
« on: March 06, 2019, 16:30:05 »
Hi everyone! I was wondering if any of the shops around in the Dayton area drill tanks? I've got my eye on a second-hand one that I'd like to install an overflow in if I get it. I'm not totally opposed to drilling it myself, just never tried it and wanted to see if there was somewhere I could take it to have it done. Thanks!

Drill it yourself. It’s more intimidating to think about it than it really is doing it. Make sure it’s not tempered glass by using polarized sunglasses. Take your time, don’t pressure the bit and use plenty of water and it’s really pretty easy.

That's what everyone has told me, but taking power tools to glass still makes me nervous! Lol

I get that. I was crazy nervous the first time. But l drilled 4 holes in my first one and then did two more tanks after that. Never had issues.

That's good to know, thank you! I think I will give it a shot if my next project tank isn't drilled
