There isn’t to much to show right now. Mainly have been unpacking boxes, deciding what to keep and what goes. Also doing some organizing. Here is what is on the agenda next
Install a utility sink
Install a workstation area for making frags
Build frag racks
Run electric from sub-panel
Install skimmer
Install apex
Add a center acrylic support in sump
Install dosing pumps
Build light racks

Since I don’t have any updates to show right now. Here is before/after pics of the main living area. We pulled out a couple walls around the kitchen, did lots of electrical, lighting, plumbing and drywall. Then new kitchen cabinets, paint and flooring. It took me a month to do this area. I still haven’t installed the hood above the stove top. These pictures are a bit old from before we moved in except the last one. First pic is the before.

Thanks Jesse

Got some work done yesterday and this evening. Built the testing bench and added cabinets to hold sink. This is in the filtration room.  Tomorrow’s plan is to install the sink and faucet. Will be nice to have running water. I haven’t had that for a couple months.

It’s amazing how we take the simple things for granted until you don’t have them.

Thank you.

I am ready to build the light racks. I was hoping to make a rectangle of angle aluminum painted black and mount the lights directly to it. Then use thin wire rope to hang tack from ceiling. Does anyone know a good place for me to purchase the aluminum. I checked Lowe’s and menards and they were either to thick, thin or not long enough. Also should I weld it together? I haven’t ever welded anything and don’t have a welder but always up for a new tool and skill. Let me know if anyone has experience on sourcing the metal or can help with fabrication.

Got the skimmer installed today

I bought my tank framing materials from online metals. Com. Even after shipping they were cheaper then buying local by quite a bit. My boss can weld really well and might do it for you for a dinner out certificate. Aluminum is harder to weld then steel unless you know what you are doing.

Could always try alro,   That’s where we buy all of our aluminum extrusion for work.

That looks great Ryan. Did you paint it or did it come black?

Looks like this is the place I need to visit. I will head out there early this week. Thank you!

Look at metal supermarket. There is a location right in your backyard (next to UD) and you can buy off the shelf. Great group and great prices. You can walk through their warehouse to see what they offer and the crew loves to talk projects.

Thank you Fleck, I will check them out as well. Things are stalled as of right now. A lot of the places are closed by the time I get off work.

I’m still on the hunt for some metal.  I checked Home Depot and they have what would work but not long enough pieces. All these metal stores are closed by the time I get off work. Does anyone know a place that is open on Saturday’s

You might be able to get a metal fabricator to keep an appointment after hours or on a Saturday. It might help to see what you need too. Could be someone with a more flexible schedule could pick it up for you.  Frustrating for sure.

If you was building it with regular iron I could weld and fabricate it for you.
