Pod population?
« on: June 13, 2015, 14:41:25 »
I have had my tank set up and running for a little over a year now- 28g JBJ nano cube. I know that pods come in on different things. I have never seen a single pod in my tank. I have been looking specifically for a while now. I have seen the small whitish star fish but no other invert hitchhikers. Any advise on what, if anything, I need to do would be appreciated.

you can buy some pods and seed your tank do it at night when the lights are low or they will be eaten before they find refuge in the rock so they can produce . i did this and my mandarin goby stayed healthy. you can find them on here sometimes or at corals galore or gerbers your choice .but they need to be live .

I'll get some the next time I'm at the LFS. Do you need to acclimate them, or just squirt them in?

Aquatic specialists in troy sell pods. Also gerbers carries tigger pods that come in a bottle they also sell live mysis. I buy my from getyourpods.com they don't have a great rep but I personally haven't had a problem with them, but when they do their bogo you get a lot of amphipods and copepods for cheap

Chances are there are many in the system already. They like to come out at night. When the lights go out look around you should see them then.
