LTA looking a little bad
« on: February 17, 2009, 08:34:36 »
I got a LTA from Joel after the Jan meeting and he was doing great for the first week.  Now he is not attching to anything and is laying on his side.  His foot looks to be shrinking from what I remember when I got him.  The tank parameters are good.  No problems with any other fish, corals inverts.  ANy suggestions?

Thanks

Are you directly feeding? If so, what are you trying to feed it? Has it actually eaten anything that you've seen?

I have feed him krill for the first week which he loved.  Tried to feed him last night but did not eat.

The LTA is probably suffering from a lack of light to survive. They typically like A LOT of light and I don’t think your 65w pc’s are cutting it, especially if it is in a bigger, deeper tank.

I'd say ud flyer is right on. I had the same problem with an LTA and I had the same lights. I have since gotten rid of it and I now have a GBTA that has been happy for over a month. (compliments of micki) It has doubled in size and I only feed it once a week.
