What are these things????
« on: October 10, 2009, 23:01:19 »
Hello!

We were re-arranging our tanks, and on one of the large frags of zoanthis, we noticed a white, long armed critter that looked like a tiny starfish. I looked up 'white starfish' and the ones that come up look nothing like what we have. I see two of them, and they have very long, thin white arms with what looks like tiny bristles on them, and the center is kind of a greyish tone, and is shaped like a pentagon.

I noticed the long white arms sticking out (VERY TINY) and then saw them crawl out of the coral and onto the LR.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okie Dokie on the brittle star....will they hurt anything? If so what should we do to get rid of them?

Most people consider them good - a sign of good water quality, and generally not harmful.
