sponge id
« on: April 18, 2010, 22:08:00 »
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sponge?  It started growing on one of my rocks and I thought it was pretty cool stuff but I have been seeing smaller patches of it different places on my rock work and am beginning to become concerned.
Thanks
jeff

I have some too. We were told that it is darker because of over-feeding. I have not had any problems with it, and it grows pretty fast. Now I also have some yellow ones that are growing round, but none of them are hurting anything.

Same thing here. Both white and black, tons of it. Most of it is hidden in high flow areas, without light.

It's a form of tree sponge. I don't know the exact name for it though.
