Aiptasia eating nudibranchs
« on: December 27, 2018, 16:09:07 »
Well, figured I would go with the only guaranteed natural predator.

I’ve waited till the aiptasia population grew a bit before I got these guys.

2-4 months I should be clear although I’m sure a few will be well hidden and not get eaten.

I added some to my tank a year or so back and never saw them again.  I think they became very expensive fish food.

I got a file fish... it took it several months, but it cleared out all the aiptasia. I still have aiptasia in my sump so I occasionally toss in a rock or two from the sump and they are cleaned off within a day or two.

I don’t have any of the wrasse that eat them, or peppermint shrimp which is their #1 predator. Wish me luck!

I considered a file fish but so many are hit or miss.  If these don’t do the job I may have to try one!
