does anyone NOT have sand in there sump maybe just live rock and rubble maybe crushed coral ?????????????

I've got sand, Marinepure cubes and rubble pieces in mine. I added the sand later on, my tank crashed and I decided to use some live sand to help get it to re-cycle more quickly.

I don’t have anything but equipment and a home made pod hotel in my sump.

I used a mesh bag. Placed aragonite rubble in the bag and zip tied it off. Then placed it in the sump. Gives the pods a place to multiply. A couple times a month I put it in the display and shake it around a bit.

  No sand just rock rubble in my Refugium, equipment and a self made Pod Hotel for pod growth, mine is filled with MarinePure Bio Spheres.
