I thought it was mine as well

METZCOOL: that only works for current web browser. Once you close the browser it will reset to the default. Also, if you do this on IE7, it will change it for all the tabs opened in the browser as well. I.E. MSN would then shrink as well as google, etc.

I'm wondering if its an issue with a specific web browser or something like that. I'm running IE7 on multiple computers and they are all doing this.

SCRATCH THAT.....right click on the page and select VIEW SOURCE. You get to view the source on the web pages and I see a lot of .cn (China) betting websites. Appears that the hoster has been hacked and/or the software that runs this website has an exploit for it.

a little quick googling http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=http%3A%2F%2Flotultimatebet.cn%2F shows that this is not an uncommon occurrence now. Looks like its an issue with weak scripts on a php based server.

jeblin,

Where are you seeing the betting site stuff? Can you please email that to me so that I can forward it to our host.

Also, the "quote" option is hanging also. I have a pretty recent back-up of the software itself, looks like I am going to need to upload it.

I found it and I sent it to the host. I am probably going to have to upload the back-up I took before I went out of town last weekend. The worst we might lose is some attachments that people uploaded.

I am pretty sure that I am definately going to have to upload the back up from last weekend. I'v looked at a couple of the affected files and the ones from the back-up do not have the changes in them, unfortunately, I probably will not be able to get to it until Thursday morning.

I think the virus name that infected the web server is Bloodhound.Exploit.196
The reason I think that is because that is what my Symantec Antivirus found when going to our site this morning. Symantec was able to quarantine it. It was in a file called readme[1].pdf and readme[2].pdf
My guess is they already know about it and have cleaned it because it would have infected multiple sites they hosted from that particular web server. + as Ohio Reef members log in they would either get the virus or be prompted by their antivirus software.

It's still on their server. When I accessed one of my other pages I got a warning from my firewall that it blocked an attempted attack from one of thos *.cn addresses.

jeblin,

Thanks for those links. That is definately exactly what happened to our site. I will be uploading the back-up late tonight or early tomorrow morning. I just hope the host has it cleaned up on their end.

If they don't have it cleaned, it's just going to modify the backup files you upload tonight. Normally hosting companies are pretty quick to clean their stuff since most host a LOT of websites and they don't want the reputation of being slow to clean something like this. Just my 2 cents.

For anyone that did not get a warning from their antivirus on here when the first open the page, please check your antivirus software. If you aren't running any, there's a few good free ones out there such as AVG and AVAST.

A good Firewall helps too.
I look at my log in my router and see blocks for this site. The site loads fine for me with no warnings.

The issue is the host needs to fix this and find the site that caused the issue as it may not be Ohio Reef.

I am certain it is not Ohio Reef. I have another site that is hosted by the same host and it has been affected as well.

a hardware firewall helps to, the more expensive routers have good ones. NOTE: Not some of the cheaper routers with built in firewall. They are not as good.

BUT even those are better than nothing. In fact, the cheaper routers (linksys, netgear, etc) help to filter out the majority of the "wannabes" who have nothing better to do than play at trying to hack systems.
