Apex probe help
« on: July 13, 2019, 17:41:38 »
I calibrated my pH probe yesterday and last evening I started getting wacky salinity readings. Ive checked for wire problems and such and don’t see anything I may have disturbed. But, I’ve got a lot of calcerous critters growing on the salinity probe and want to vinegar bathe it but am worried. These probes aren’t cheap. How do you guys clean off your probes without damaging them?

not sure about the cleaning but they are known to have issues with air being trapped in the end of the probe.

That’s good to know Jeff. I bet I had some trapped air from fiddling with the pH probe.

How do you clean yours?

Vinegar is fine.  Soak it in vinegar for a bit, then a toothbrush.  But let it normalize a bit after that for calibration
