culture rock

Hey all, I have always seen where folks put their rock into tubs with a skimmer or something to spur the growth on the rocks before putting it into their tanks.

I however have never done that. In an effort to expidite the cleaning of aptasia and bubble algae from my tank, I'm removing as much rock as I can that doesn't have any corals growing on it.

My question is, what is the best method/process for curing the rock and prep it before putting it back into the tank? Should I soak it and fresh water or boil it before curing to make sure all the bad stuff on/in the rock is dead?
