Brigham,
Why not buy an off the shelf tank and section it off yourself.  I did that with my frag sump.  I bought my glass for sectioning at Lumpkin's glass in Centerville.

I just used single strength glass.  That's how the glass guys described it.  Pretty thin, but it isn't under a lot of pressure like the tank.

I used "A Service Glass" in Beavercreek.  I got 1/4 thick for $9 a sheet.  And they even got them done day of.  Here is their website http://aserviceglass.com (http://aserviceglass.com)

I also used A service glass for 40 breeder baffles. 1/4 inch.

Bummer that I just saw your post. It looks like you already sourced your glass. I have enough 1/4" glass left over from my frag tank build for baffles.

Another great place to source good glass is old aquariums. People practically give them away on sites like CL when they spring a leak! Cut the silicon and 'bam' perfect aquarium building glass!

Well let me know if you move ahead with the new design. I'd be happy to help out with some 1/4" glass.

I'm going to be building a 40B sump in a few weeks. Petco is roomered to be having their dollar a gallon sale at the end of the month. I'm waiting to pick up a tank. If you still have the glass I could use it. 937-831-2231

I don't have many scraps big enough to span a 40B.  Two(2) pieces that are ~18.5" x 4" and one(1) that is ~18.5" x 8.5".  you are welcome to them if it helps, but they won't give you too tall of a baffle. Though they would probably serve for your bubble breakers.
