Bryopsis?
« on: March 11, 2019, 11:14:10 »
In this picture you can see the stalk of something that’s taking a strong hold on my 40. This pic is a close up of a dime size piece of live rock. I have a feeling it’s Bryopsis. I’ve got hundreds of these little stalks with a little tuft at the top on most of them. The tuft collects detritus and looks terrible. I’ve also recently had the pleasure of introducing bubble algae to the tank. Im considering a dose of flucon to eradicate all of it. Thoughts or experience in an SPS system?

I had similar algae in my nano system and my emerald crabs seemed to clean it out.

I’ve considered that. Gerbers had them BOGO this weekend. I didn’t do it though. My luck would be that I get 2 that like to eat SPS lol

I guess that’s possible. I have 8 in my 120.   They never stop eating.

Bryopsis looks more like a fern. I’m not so sure that is bryopsis.

I think my goby may have chomped the top off of this one. Most of them have a tuft at the top. And yes, fern like.
