Looking for a Walt Disney
« on: September 30, 2017, 13:24:44 »
I was wondering if anyone had a frag of the walt disney acro within about an hour of Cincinnati? I just figured I would check here before ordering online. Thanks!

That’s Brad at simply saltwater aquatics. He is a friend of mine. He does have them but it is quite the haul for you. He would probably ship to you. You can text him here (765) 748-3830.

The homewrecker and Walt Disney are both tenuis with similar color. I thought having one or the other would be the same. Since I have had a few requests I should probrably get one. Here is some good info on the two with side by side comparison. https://reefbuilders.com/2017/08/28/homewrecker-tenuis/ Although I don’t know if there is a biased opinion in the article. Guess I need to get one to see for myself. In the name of science; lol. Chris has both but they are to small to judge the beauty just yet. Would  Love to see a colony of each side by side.  The Walt Disney has longer polyps that hide some of its beauty.  in many pictures they may touch the coral to get it withdraw back so you can see more of the color. As of right now the Jason fox jolt hands down beats the homewrecker in my tank. But both of those are pretty small yet as well. Anyone else out there have both care to comment

Here is a picture of mine in last post of this thread http://ohioreef.com/index.php?topic=21308.0
It hasn’t grown any since then, but I’ll get another picture up soon

There doesn’t seem to be many out there. When I bought mine I think he said there was only three release at that time. One to me, one at the initial live sale when he first released it and one to someone else.

The Walt Disney looks great Chris. I really Like it a lot, quite a bit different than the home wrecker.

I took a pic of Jolt and homewrecker yesterday. These are under blue Lights all the way up and white lights low. The jolt blues are much more intense. But on the homework the greens are really bright. The Jolt has bright red polyps that contrast well which sets it apart

Jolt is on top

One thing that unique about them is that they encrust and branch at the same time. Opposed to most acropora that completely encrust for 3 to 9 months before throwing a branch out

Side by side, Homewrecker looks better in my system but they are both nice. I have been a big fan of the various tenuis corals for many years. Started with the ORA Roscoe and Copps' Blue tenuis, then my own Blueberry Cheesecake version which I lost years ago during a move. I  have a lot of them now too...Homewrecker, Walt Disney, RR Orange Passion, Matt V Orange Envy, Reef Raft Canada Garden of Eden and I have the Matt V Rainbow Envy on the way too.
I am probably forgetting some others too.
