I like the aquascape
75G Mixed Reef w/ 30G sump/refuge

Electrical Engineers do it on impulse, with faster rise times, with more power, and less resistance at higher frequencies, without shorts, until it Hertz

Here is a shot looking from the end pane.   This was one of the views I was missing in my old setup.  The main reason I set the tank only half way into the wall.

And an acan that I'm pretty please with how well it has done in the frag tank.  I had this nearly killed......before I realized it just didn't like light.

Well I think all of the metal work is done.   All of the mounting holes are drilled and tapped.   Here is the shell.   The sides are going to have black Acryllic covering it, one to hold the wiring cordgrips and plugs.   Also to direct the airflow down to the fins of the heat sink and out the ends.

Note that the drivers that I'm using are the new Meanwell HLG series drivers.   They are high power (up to 360w)  but unlike some of the other recent high power power supplies, they are still low voltage.   Which means I'll be running parallel circuits protected with fuses.    I have an HLG 185W power supply running 52 LED's.   These are still Dimmable, and have nice metal enclosures, these are also much higher efficiency than most drivers.    93-95%.

If you don't mind me asking where did you do your shopping for your led fixture / components?

LED's from Rapid LED and ReefLEDLights
HeatSink from HeatSinkUSA
Metal and Fasteners - McMasterCarr
PowerSupplies - Jameco
Other Electrical Components - DigiKey
Terminal Strips - From a machine we just got done putting in a new control system.
Acrylic - Meyers Plastics

I think that should be about everything.  This build was meant for a nice clean look......trying to keep most of the wires hidden.   There are many ways to do this build cheaper....

Just trying to figure out the best route to take as far as my lighting goes. I have one 175watt 10k halide setup, and will have to buy another complete duplicate halide setup due to a center brace. I was planning on using two 39watt t5 bulbs to supplement the 10k halides, but my ice cap fluorescent ballast crapped out. So at this point I'm just looking for advice on the best way to light my 50gal. (36x18x18). I would like to upgrade to led.

Got the frame of my canopy built.....I'm going to build my doors, but that will come later.   I wanted to get my frame built, so I can attach some panels (Cardboard) to protect from any jumpers.   Which I have.

This is one of my first real wood working projects.   Started with rough lumber.   The canopy probably cost me about $25 in wood.   Of course the tools required to finish the wood are a long term investment.

Yes, I just couldn't bring myself to get some Cherry or Walnut for a first project.   With the Oak, I am probably going to go with a little darker stain.

That is really looking good Paul. Love how it comes out in the room a bit to get the side view as well.

Looks like you used the Kregg jig for joinery.  That piece of equipment makes it SOO easy.  Biscuits are my second favorite.

Yup..I can't believe how strong the joints are.  Takes a little bit of practice with clamping to make sure everything stays flush.    Used a router table with a 36" fence as a jointer.    Would love to have a 6" jointer, but I just don't have the space.    Have a DeWalt735 Portable Planer to finish the boards.
