Need to move tank a few inches....
« on: February 09, 2014, 15:46:15 »
So, our 75 gallon reef tank is currently on a 45 deg angle in the corner, and of course i wasn't thinking when we put it there that we needed some extra space in the future when I decide to finish the stand and build the full canopy.  Any suggestions on how to move it out a few inches from the wall?

So, taking the water out, and putting it back in will be okay?  I was concerned that might spike the ammonia or nitrate/nitrites.

You can take as much water out, and put new in as you want. The bacteria is in your rocks and sand not the water. As long as you don't disturb the sand you should be fine.

I would drain it out leaving a inch or two of water in there at most... The more the better.  Even leaving 10 gallons of water is going to add 80 lbs of weight plus the rocks, tank itself stand etc..... Plus glass tanks do not like to be twisted at all

300g tub o fish
