New Member Introduction!!!!

Hello everyone. My name is Tim and I just joined Ohio Reef today from the Springboro area. Joel at Aquariums Etc  got me started in the saltwater hobby about a year ago, but I was inspired  by a snorkel & dive trip to Hawaii a few summers ago. I also had a lot of experience with freshwater planted tanks and raising Discus fish.

I am currently running two SPS only systems. One reef is 115 gallons and the other is 120 gallons (including sumps built by Joel). I am a big fan of Tampa Bay Saltwater aquacultured live rock, SPS corals, Tunze Streams and Powder Blue tangs.

I still have one red mantis left as well. He keeps Joel happy because I have to buy hermit crabs and snails in bulk now because the little guy feeds on everything with shells on it. My mantis is about two inches long. I removed about 5 or 6 mantis shrimp from my main system a while ago, but this guy is smart and will not go without a fight. My Royal Gramma keeps him in check for now.

this last one i have is very secretive.  i catch a glimse of him every couple months.  it is about time to order more hermits and snails though.  i hate to see how big it is now.  if i ever catch him, i would setup a nano to keep it in.

Mantis are cool!   I got an awesome one from Joel a while back.  I have another little green one too.  I have them in their own tank.  Look forward to bringing them up to Troy...still making room and time.  Mother's day looks like a great day to bring them.

I am thinking another 100 blue leg hermit crabs and 60 astrea snails should keep my tanks happy for a few months.
