Meeting
« on: March 02, 2010, 19:04:04 »
I would like to host a meeting and was wondering if any of you would like to learn how to recharge di resin as a hands on topic, I am also 1 hour north of Dayton and would like to gauge amount of people that would still be interested since majority of people are South of me?
What months are still available?
Thanks.

I'm in! i would love to run about 10lbs of resin without RO.  recharge it once a month.  Imagine 0 TDS water at nearly the same rate as tap water

Electrical Engineers do it on impulse, with faster rise times, with more power, and less resistance at higher frequencies, without shorts, until it Hertz

AHHH!!!  You beat me to this!  I've been saving up DI resin so I could recharge it.  I have about 3-4 lbs saved up so far.

Here you go Cyber:

The chemicals can be found at Lowe’s and the tools at Wal-Mart. The lye is found at Lowe’s in the pluming section. It is used for clearing drains and made by a company called Roebic, and is 100% sodium hydroxide (caustic soda), listed as lye on the back of the bottle. The muriatic acid is found in the paint department. The mixing bottles must hold 16 oz. of fluid. The two containers used to separate the resins came from Wal-Mart and hold 64 oz. each. I also needed a large colander, window sheer as a filter, a stir stick, 5 oz. measuring cup (large shot glass), two 32 oz. tumblers, and two 5 gallon buckets.

I have done this twice and worked well both times.

About 1.5 hours with a 1 hour of that time waiting for the anion and cation seperation, other things could be done during the seperation time.

No one has taken March yet, although might not be enough heads up for people with "budget" issues.  I just got a text for my wife stating that the money she made today filling in for a friend at 2nd St. Market might pay for a third of the speeding ticket she got on her way home :nono

I guess she forgot to mention that her husband is former law enforcement...

March will not work for me either as I prefer to work with these chemicals in the garage with the door open, so a warmer month would be best.
What months are available yet?

Mmmmmm, chemicals...

I wasn't begging for March, to be sure.  I have a list of purchases already slated for this month, so if we can push this back, I am game.  I'm just saying that no one has taken March yet.  Not even a whisper of anyone taking March.  Makes Ghurlag sad  :'(
