« on: December 29, 2011, 10:05:38 »
Well, been a few days since my tank has finally been running & I finally added some fish last night.  I will take some pics and post them hopefully later today.

A little about my tank

120x30x30 = Tenecor Acrylic
sumps = two 65g wide from Glass Cages - 36x24x17
skimmer = ER 12-2/RC500 presently modded with a bubble blaster 5000 nw pump
return pump = Red Dragon 12m3 = suppose to give 2000-2500 gph of actual flow

about 200# of Figi (I think) LR
about 51# of Real Reef LR (the man made LR that Premium Aquatics sells)
100# or so of base rock

two seio something powerheads..... not sure the models, they were $20 ea when Jack's closed

Lighting
fuge - purchased a used T5 fixture when I was at premium
tank - 3 - 250w Vertex MH ballasts.... need to get new bulbs

what I need to do still
-Install baffles in 1 of the sumps to reduce air bubbles
-Get more live rock or base rock..... I need a few large pieces
-Pick up some Chaeto from a few WROC members
-Also going to add a 3rd sump for water changes and auto top off stuff.
-Get a Reef Dynamics No-Po filter....
-Ozone
-Finish around the tank......

Fishlist - presently in tank
Lawnmower Blenny
Yellow Eye Kole Tang
Pair of Maroom Clowns

Fish waiting in my 210g to be transported here
-Hawian/Black Durgeon Trigger
-Powder Blue Tang
-Sohal Tang
-Passer Angel

Fish want list
-Quenn Angel
-Emperor Angel
-Blue Face Angel
-Flame Angel
-Yello + Purple Tangs
-Crosshatch Trigger
-Naso Tangs (blond & std)

Thanks for the compliments w/o even seeing it :)

Yes I will be up for hosting one, I hosted one a few years ago back when the club started,

we held it outside & once this is more established I would love to hold one.  I just need to get quite a few more fish in there before I host it.....

If I ever get my ponds going I can hold one then as well.... have a outdoor BBQ

Sorry for the delay in pics... waiting on the wife to show me where she hid them on my computer :)  They are on here somewhere..... just no clue where!  Took a bunch of pics new years eve..... wife and her brother were comparing camera's, seeing who could take the best pics (Nikon vs Cannon)......

Today I swapped out my Red Dragon 12m3 a bubble blaster 7000 pump, went from around 2500 gph of flow to 1200 ish gph.  Worried I need a little more flow so I might get a 2nd bubble blaster pump that's in the 500-700 GPH area to run through my 80w Aqua UV sterilizer.  Figure that would give me two return pumps incase one fails & I would put the UV on a timer so it's not on 24/7

Went to Gerbers yesterday.... they have a Harlequin Tusk I have my eyes on.... I just couldn't tell if he was a Aussie or not :(

A Fowleri Tang & Maculiceps Tang caught me eye elsewhere.... debating if I should snag them....

I only have a few fish in here now, a pair of TR maroon clowns, yellow eye kole tang & a starry blenny.  After having the fish for a day my daughter asked if we can name the fish..... sure you can was my reply.  I think she is calling the tang Kole..... I forget what she called the clowns & the blenny is called "slugger".  Anyways, finally here are a few pics

This is of the larger of the two maroon clown, she's maybe 1.5in long.  Isn't eating really well yet but is nibbling a little.  Once the lights come it she slowly does a lap around the top of the tank, again.... & again..... The rock in the back is my favorite piece of LR.  It's the "real reef" rock that I purchased from Premium Aquatics.  Has all kinds of cool stuff on it, plus it's MAN MADE!!!  The other 3 pieces of real reef rock doesn't have much if any life on it.

posing for another pic.... I had lot of micro bubbles in the tank however swapping the red dragon pump out for a bubble blaster 7000 which does about half the flow eliminated 80% of the bubbles.  Now I just need to mod my skimmer a bit more then I should be trouble or I guess bubble free

Kole is doing really well, ate agae minutes after being added to the tank & now is eating flake pretty well.

Another tank shot..... two of the bulbs are 14K's & I do not have a clue what the 3rd bulb is.  I need to order some one of these days but I am not sure what to get.

Harlequin Tusk at Gerbers is Aussie.... so very tempted to get him!  Hopefully going to check out Marine Solutions tomorrow to see what fish they have before I snag the Tusk.

Ended up buying the Aussie Harlequin Tusk they had at Gerbers.  I am happy but yet bummed..... their tanks are so scratched up that I couldn't tell he was missing a tooth... & that his fins were a little chewed up :(  I wouldn't of paid what I did if I would of know that..... but he's doing great, eats really well.

Next week I plan on taking a little roadtrip to Michigan & bringing back a few fish.  Looks like the crosshatch trigger (way to much money) is a negative but at this time this is what I am considering on bringing back with me.

Fowleri Tang
Naso - streamer (they have a blond & normal male, can't decide)
Yellow Tangs - 3 I think....

Sargassum Trigger

cleanup crew - snails/crabs
sea hare - debating if he could live in my tank with triggers etc

100# of fiji/pompei live rock

I've always loved the blond Naso but that’s just me. Where are you going in Michigan to get these fish that are cheaper than getting them online? I know overnight shipping is ridiculous but so is gas to drive up. Unless you are going up anyway for some reason.
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
