The only thing I don't like about the using media to scrub your air solution is that you now have yet another reoccurring cost to maintain your tank.  Yes venting outside has it's own set of issues and concerns, but I think it's worth the extra work to avoid the reoccurring costs.  I am curious though on how long that media lasts, I see in the reviews that some complained that it didn't last long.

How long the media lasts can depend on the cfm rating of your skimmer's air intake, the moisture level where the reactor pulls in from, and how much CO2 there is to start with.

Lots of folks have had their first 'batch' of media run through quickly, but the next ones slow down.

Were it me, I'd look to venting to the outside first, and if that weren't feasible, do the CO2 scrubber.

In my old tank, all it took was a snorkel on my skimmer's intake, running that out of the stand and above the tank.

I'm now vented out side, but my PH is still not as high as I would like, swinging between 7.6 and 7.8.   I'm going to let it run for another week or two before I take any more action, don't want to make too many changes too quickly and end up overdoing it.
