uv steralizer

is anyone running a uv sterilizer anymore on a full reef tank???????

I used to about 10 years ago and was thinking of putting one back on during my build

do you think it would be a good idea or not

feedback is welcome here please

I would pass, I feel that you'll kill way more beneficial stuff than you would bad stuff.

Make a list of all the bad things it would kill. Then make a list of the good. The good will far out weigh the bad.

Not a necessity but I don't think it hurts. Larrynews always ran one. He however broke the mold often. Here is his tank http://www.ohioreef.com/Pages/TOTQ/2011-Q1/default.html

What it kills depends on the flow rate.  Fast flow rate it can only kill algae, slow rate can kill anything that's pushed through it. 

I ran one on a fo tank years ago, eliminated yellow water which was my goal.  Been debating on putting one on my fowlr.....
