I would like to know what you guys think about a UV sterilizers  pros and cons thanks Don

I use one and I like it for water clarity, if you go with one just make sure you size it right as you can kill all the good bacteria if your flow rate is to slow.
Also get one with a wiper installed as it makes cleaning it a lot easier.
It will not kill ICH or Fish diseases in a closed system as shown here: http://www.int-res.com/articles/meps/6/m006p295.pdf

Here is a statement from aqua uvs website:

In salt water reef environments choose a UV that matches your flow rate per hour in the 30,000 or 45,000 columns of our chart. Flow rates in the 75,000 and 90,000 columns will destroy the planktonic food supply for the reef.

As stated they do work however flow rate and proper sizing is a necessity

What do you want the uv to do?

What is your tank?  Reef?  FO? Fowlr? Etc

Biggest drawback is cost of bulb replacement

Good is water is clear
300g tub o fish
