My bad....the coral is the pink and white lump in the upper left corner of the picture. It fades from bright pink to almost cream, and has small white spots with flower like polyps that come out.

Is this something you have just added or has it been there a while? It looks like the base of green star polyps. Or it could be zoas that are closed.

I've seen the green stars and this one has small white flower or star like polyps. I can't find anything like it on line.

I don't know how long it's been in the tank. I bought the entire setup used. I think he said he'd had it about a year, but I don't know if that means the coral too or not. It was attached to the rock on the left but the aptisia you see next to it caused it to detach. The peppermints have taken care of those.

That appears to be a branching type of Briareum, I think that technically it is a gorgonia. Pretty hardy stuff but can be invasive.

It could be star polyps (I have several different veriations at the green house) or encrusting gorgonian.

See if you can get a shot of the polyps while they're extended

It is in the genus Briarieum, but I'm not sure of which species.  GSP encompasses several species of Briarieum and Pachyclavularia.  You can rule out asbestinum sp, violacea sp. and stechei sp.
