Thanks, Micki! I can't wait to see those frags in my tank as well....but first they have to make it through shipping and then they have to go through my rigorous QT process....Unfortunately, I have lost a few gems in the past that never survived QT  :'(

Very cool Tim!  Looking forward to pics of them in the tank!

I agree! I would never place an unquarantined fish or coral into my system. To quote Anthony Calfo, "not using a quarantine tank is like playing Russian roulette. Nobody wins the game, some people just get to play longer than others."  :-ThumbUpsm

I find the growth patterns very interesting on this coral. The way it sometimes grows very condensed and other times more spread out. Do you think that is a result of changes in flow and available light over time?

Tim what type of monti is in the ninth picture? I just received a large colony of this today in my box lot. By the way those are all very nice corals.

It is a combination of both adequate flow and turf wars.....A lot of my corals are growing very condensed because I am able to replicate the kind of flow you would find on a wild reef. At the same time, when the corals sense they are growing near each other, I also noticed the corals tend to grow more spread out in certain areas as well....because of turf wars, each coral is trying to gain as much reef real estate as possible.

Thanks for the compliment, Rich. The montipora in the ninth picture is a true pokerstar montipora. Here is another picture of the same coral photographed last summer.

Tim, can you stop teasing those of us that have a tank cycling?  ;D Seriously, I love your corals and I am anxiously awaiting a chance to see the whole set up. Did you say you wanted to host a meeting so we can get a behind the scenes of your tank? I can't promise that everyone won't drool over everything, lol.

I could probably offer a small group behind the scenes tour of my reef at some point this year (10 people or so max).....but since we just hosted a rather large event for the Cincinnati Reefkeepers Society last week, I am not so sure I could get spousal approval to host another large event anytime soon with a newborn in the house.

I am hoping Brian (Lazylivin) will stop by again during the Fall/Winter and take some amazing pictures of my reef. My underwater point & shoot camera takes nice top down photos of my corals, but pictures behind the glass are a different story.  Another hobbyist (drimo) recently took this full tank shot of my reef.

We understand. Especially now with the weather changing so much. Everyone getting sick and all, and the baby definitely does not need that. I will get there at some point to see it, I'm sure. The pic you just posted is gorgeous! I love those corals. Thanks for posting it up.
